Chris Cui has over twelve years of cross-sector experience within the financial services and philanthropy sectors, in Asia, Europe and the United States.

During her recent work at leading impact investment venture capital firms, Closed Loop Partners and Rethink VC, Ms. Cui developed extensive experience focusing on investment themes that incorporated education, womens’ economic empowerment, and sustainability.

In the United States, Ms. Cui recently served as an advisor to several accelerator programs supporting social enterprise, including the NYC Climate Braintrust (hosted by the World Economic Forum Global Shapers) and the Echoing Green Climate Fellowship program. She is currently a member of the Women Investing for a Sustainable Economy (WISE) community in New York City.

Previously, Ms. Cui served on the team at Swiss Re and XL Catlin, where she worked on strategic initiatives to promote innovative risk management solutions, including natural catastrophe bonds and performance guarantees for renewable energy in emerging markets.

She also lead the outreach effort for the Hong Kong Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where she secured philanthropic funding and partnerships to set up the first center for the nonprofit in mainland China.

Ms. Cui earned her Executive MBA from the global joint program with Columbia Business School, London Business School and Hong Kong University. She received her undergraduate degree in finance from the University of International Business and Economics in China.

Ms. Cui lives in New York City with her husband and two dogs, which they rescued from Hong Kong. She plays Irish Gaelic football, basketball and is a member of Columbia University alumni softball team.
